Free Marathon or Half Marathon place for every volunteer marshal

FREE MARATHON OR HALF MARATHON PLACE FOR EVERY VOLUNTEER MARSHAL THIS WEEKEND

Run Nation are experienced race organisers, with a portfolio of events. We are delighted to be expanding into Scotland by resurrecting the popular Marathon around the shores of Loch Rannoch on Sunday 18th October 2015.

We are keen to engage local running and athletics clubs to help staff and marshal the course. As all club runners know, marshals are crucial to the success of races, keeping runners safe and providing support on route.

I am contacting you to ask if you could ask if any of your club members would be willing to help out on Sunday 18th October at Rannoch.

We provide volunteers with a packed lunch, an event jacket and a contribution towards travel. Or, if you are a runner and wish to bring a marshal along with you we can provide a FREE ENTRY into the race. Please confirm the latter by Thursday 15th Oct 2015.

The race starts at 9:15am and some marshals will be needed from 8am to help with registration. We will be happy to accommodate people in specific locations based on availability, other time commitments or geographical location.

Any interest members should email us on info@run-nation.org

With best wishes

This year they are allowing junior teams for under 12’s and under 16. If you have a child, grandchild, niece or nephew that would like to run please drop me a note with their name and age. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
As unofficial keeper of the Hartley Archives let me give you a bit of background….
The relays were started way back in 1985 by a Kinross Runner named Eddie Hartley, who was trying to promote a fun short distance event for long distance runners. The event has grown more popular over the years and now attracts 150 -> 200 runners each year. There are now prizes for the fastest male team, fastest female team, fastest mixed team, fastest male, fastest female and fastest junior team. PRR have a brilliant history at this event and our names are plastered all over the trophies , except one.
More details once I have an idea of numbers. Last year we had 5 teams entered.
