Perth Road Runners recently held their annual Relay Challenge where teams of three tackled the 1.5mile path around North Inch with baton exchange at each half mile.
For the second successive year, junior athletes from a local primary school were invited to compete and despite their young years many of the 21 runners proved to be a strong match for the senior squad.
Duncan Ryan, senior team, was first to cross the line in 7mins 13secs, but the highlight of the evening was a dramatic junior finish as Nina Mowatt held off Catriona Drimmie with both breaking the 9-minute barrier in 8mins 58secs and 8mins 59secs establishing a new course record.
Runners afterwards enjoyed home baking provide by the parents.
