Running in the Devil’s Burden Hill Relay Race on Saturday the 9th of February and finishing in a highly respectable position of 48th position from 113 teams were the Kinnoul Runners Down – Mixed team. Including: Mathhew McCullagh was ran the first split in a time of 00.33.34, John Harper anfd Andrew Blaikie who completed the second split in 01.25.36, Claire Douglas of Perth Road Runners who completed the third split in a time of 00.31.50 and finally Laura Jarvis and Rachel Blaikie who ran a time of 00.56.51. The team finished with an overall time of 03.27.51.
Another Perth Road Runners member running at the Devil’s Burden Race was Joan Wilson, although this time in the colours of Carnethy.
With a finishing position of 80th place from the 113 teams who entered the Carnethy Ladies V50 racing in the Female 40 category. Hilary Spenceley ran the first split in a time of 00.35.21, she was followed by both Joan Wilson Karen Meikle who took the second split in a time of 01.40.16, Anne Nimmo finished the 3rd split in a time of 00.40.35, running the fourth leg was Moira Stewart Cali Ingham who completed in a time of 00.56.45, the team finished with an overall time of 03.52.57.
Perth Road Runners were delighted to welcome Dr Andrew Murray to their annual presentation evening held on Saturday the 9th at the Lovat Hotel, Perth. Dr Murray gave members and inspiring talk about his running exploits including his recent 7 ultras, 7 continents, 7 days adventure. He gave a humoured speech in which members were able to relate personally to the ups and downs and the trials faced in training a competing as a runner. There was also a multitude of awards, trophies and medals which were collected by club members.

Predictions of fog on Sunday morning were happily incorrect and Perth Road Runner’s 7 the annual
Wee Winter Run took place with record entry of 25 in perfect weather conditions. The challenging
4.75 mile off-road route above Craigie and Moncrieffe was in generally good condition with plenty
of mud in the wooded section to add some interest. Great event support was provided by a small
dedicated team who turn out every year to ensure the run goes smoothly and nobody gets lost,
so take a bow, Fiona Morrison, Veronica Muir, Kenneth Stewart, Karen Walters, Anne and Richard
Wombill. Also thanks to Jack and all the staff at the Cherrybank Inn for their post race hot and cold
sustenance.

Falkirk’s Calendar Park will play host to arguably one of Scotland most eagerly anticipated fixtures, the Scottish Athletics National Cross Country Championship on Saturday. Perth Road Runners will be represented by a contingent in the Senior Mens Race including; Steve Bonthrone, Myles Bax, Derek Phillips and Chris Paton. With a field of 720 competition, this is the largest attendance for 16 years, and will be the eighth consecutive running of the event at Calendar Park. .
