The Second running of the Tay Ten run took place on Sunday morning at 11am from the George Duncan Running track in Perth.A field of 251 took part on a glorious day for running and viewing .
1st male home was Johnny Lawson of Portobello Running Club with a time of 56 mins 40 secs.With Jillian Gordon being the first female home from Kinross Road Runners in a time of 1hr 4 mins and 35 secs.These times beat the previous years so were rewarded with £50 prizes.
Most of the Perth Road Runners were on marshalling duties so we’re not running on Sunday.
9 runners did take part however and first home was Martin Mcewen in a cracking time of 1 hr 4 mins.Jimmy Fotheringham was next home in a decent 1hr 6 mins.Big Baz Campbell continued his upward curve managing 1hr 8 mins.Elvis Reid got them all shook up running a very respectable 1 hr 11mins.Ewan Jelly showed no wobbles running a grand 1hr 14mins with Sonjia Crow flying home in 1hr 20 mins.Pete Ritchie again proved his running prowess with a smooth 1hr 21 mins.Marianne McLevy took some time off her studies and cruised home in 1hr 22 with newcomer Shaunie Clark running a smooth 1hr 33 mins.
Fantastic feedback was received about the course,the marshalling and the general organisation of the event.so congratulation is in order to all that were involved.Next on the list is the Brig Bash on Wednesday the 1st of July. Entries are available on Entry Central now and it is advised to book early as there are only 300 places available.There is a no entries on the night policy for this race.
The 70th Perth parkrun also took place on Saturday with 14 Perth Road Runners taking part out of 169.Mike Souter blasted home in 18.15 which was a Pb.Stuart Fraser was next in with 20.31 with Jimmy Fotheringham running 21.07.John Rudd ran a cracking 21.24 and another Pb.Richard Ward was next in with 21.41.Caroline Jones 22.29,Kenny Stewart 24.03,Elvis Reid 24.40,Susan Smith25.01,Fiona Hair 27.37,Linda O”Neil 27.44,Caroline Hogarth 27.49 and Karen Walters 29.17 completed another great turnout for the green vests.
Usual club run on Tuesday from Bells at 6.30 pm.With Kinnoull hill on Thursday at 6.30 pm.

A very busy weekend started of with the 74th parkrun which saw 17 PRRS take part out of a field of 149. An amazing 9 personal bests were achieved.Duncan Ryan was the 1st Perth Runner home in second place running 17.49 and a Pb.Jordan Strachan 18.45,Jimmy Fotheringham 18.58,Neil Muir 19.19,Stuart Fraser 19.34,Julie Ramsay 20.12,Elvis Reid 20.28,Fiona Angus 21.41,Kenny Stewart 23.10,Marianne McLevy 23.16,Susan Smith 24.14,Margaret Mcintosh 24.38,Linda O’Neill 26.01,Fiona Hair 27.05,Karen Walters 28.26,Jean McCullough 31.32 And Fiona Provan on 31.51 completed a cracking turnout from the green vests.

During the week the Strathkiness 4.5km run took place and 10 PRRS took part out of 165 runners.Neil Muir was 26th in a time of 30.12 followed closely by Stuart Fraser on 30.30. Paul Grace 31.41,Marianne McLevy 37.27,Pete Ritchie 40.05,Gillian Smith 42.04,Daile Sipple 42.09,Sally Newton 44.47,Jean McCullough 51.36 and Fiona Morrison on 53.05 completed the Perth contingent home.
Kevin Rogers ran the Paris marathon and ran a fantastic 3hrs 13 mins.He paced the race very well and managed to beat the good for age qualifying time for Boston which is 3hrs 15mins which was his intentions at outset .
Bob Brown ran well in the Rotterdam marathon managing 3hrs 48 mins and was 3rd out of 32 in his 70 plus category.
Greg Simpson gave an awesome display at the Manchester marathon running it in 2hrs 42 mins.
The Great Edinburgh run also took place on Sunday and Martin Mcewen ran a great 1hr 4 mins with Kevin Rogers managing 1hr 8 mins with the Paris Marathon still in his legs.
Good luck to all the Perth Road Runners going down to do the London Marathon on Sunday.
Remember the next championship race takes place on Thursday evening with the 10k race taking place in Kinross. Registration from 6pm at the High School with the race at 7.30 pm.
Tuesday night is club run night from Bells with a 6.30 pm start.
Hill session at Kinnoull hill cancelled on Thursday night due to the Kinross 10k.
